Salary: In line with the Main Pay Scale (MPS), £34,069–£46,940 depending on experience.

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Art Teacher to lead the delivery of our art and design offer to post-16 learners with SEND. You will plan and teach high-quality, practical creative sessions to small groups and individuals, developing learners’ vocational, independence and employability skills through their own creative work. Working closely with the Strategic Post-16 Lead and wider staff team, you will help promote our therapeutic ethos, relational practice and commitment to inclusive, aspirational education for every learner.

The successful candidate will bring their own specialism and ideas to a provision that is still growing, and will have genuine scope to shape the curriculum, build the accredited offer and influence the direction of our creative pathway.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, teach and assess engaging art and design sessions for small groups and individuals that develop vocational, independence and employability skills.
• Lead the development of our art curriculum, including schemes of work, practical projects, exhibitions and learner portfolios.
• Build and grow the accredited offer, preparing learners for recognised qualifications and progression into further study, training or employment.
• Adapt resources and scaffold learning to meet the diverse needs of learners with SEND/SEMH.
• Promote safeguarding, behaviour and wellbeing through consistent relational and trauma-informed practice.
• Use observation, assessment information and feedback to identify gaps, track progress and inform next steps.
• Direct and support learning support staff working alongside you in the classroom.
• Build strong relationships with learners, families, external agencies and colleagues.
• Contribute to a safe, nurturing and ambitious learning environment.

Candidates must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle, as the role may involve travel between sites and supporting learners in community and work-based settings.

Salary & Benefits:

• Salary in line with the Main Pay Scale (MPS), paid all year round.
• All college closure periods off — you benefit from the full non-term-time holidays, including half terms, Christmas, Easter and the summer break.
• An additional paid day’s leave each year, on top of the standard college closure periods, to use as you choose.
