Premier Education is recruiting an enthusiastic Teacher of English for a welcoming secondary school in Bury. This is an excellent opportunity for either an ECT beginning their teaching career or an experienced teacher seeking a rewarding short-term position in KS3-4.

The school is conveniently located for candidates travelling from across Bury and the surrounding Greater Manchester area, with accessible transport links.

Teacher of English - the role

You will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Teach both English Language and English Literature

  • Prepare pupils for their GCSE studies and examinations

  • Assess progress and provide constructive feedback

  • Maintain high expectations for learning and behaviour

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the English department

  • Contribute positively to the wider life of the school

Teacher of English - the school

The school offers a supportive working environment with an established English department and committed leadership team. Staff work collaboratively to provide pupils with engaging lessons, clear routines and the encouragement they need to make good progress.

Teacher of English - requirements

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status

  • The ability to teach English confidently across KS3 and KS4

  • Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature

  • Effective classroom and behaviour-management skills

  • A positive, reliable and professional approach

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
