About the Role - Teacher of the Deaf

As a Teacher of the Deaf, you will play a pivotal role in supporting children and young people aged 0–25 who are deaf, including those with complex and additional needs, across a range of educational settings. Working closely with families, education settings, health professionals and partner agencies, you will provide specialist advice, assessment and intervention to ensure children and young people can access learning, build meaningful relationships and achieve positive outcomes

The Role - Teacher of the Deaf

You will:

  • Deliver specialist teaching and support to deaf and hearing-impaired pupils.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, families, speech and language therapists, and other professionals.
  • Adapt learning materials and strategies to ensure full access to the curriculum.
  • Assess progress and contribute to individual learning plans.
  • Promote inclusion, independence, and positive outcomes for every pupil.

What We're Looking For:

  • Mandatory Qualification/ training for Teachers of Deaf Children and Young People (or working towards it).
  • Experience supporting children with hearing impairments in educational settings.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A commitment to inclusive education and raising student achievement.
