Earn While You Train to Teach
Salaried Teacher Training Programme | Bournemouth
Start Date: October 2026 | Salary: £23,000–£26,000
Could You See Yourself as a Teacher?
If you're considering a career in teaching but would like to experience life in a school before committing to a PGCE, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.
Our two-year salaried teacher training programme in Bournemouth gives you the chance to work in one school, earn a salary, gain valuable classroom experience and progress towards becoming a fully qualified teacher.
You won't simply be placed on a course and expected to learn from theory alone. You'll become part of a school community and learn what it takes to be a teacher through real experience.
A Two-Year Journey Into Teaching
YEAR 1 — Discover Life in the Classroom
You'll begin your journey as a Cover Supervisor, working alongside experienced teachers and supporting pupils across the school.
This first year is all about developing your confidence and finding out whether teaching is the right career for you.
You'll gain experience in:
- Managing classes and maintaining a positive learning environment
- Delivering prepared lessons and supporting pupils with their work
- Building positive relationships with young people
- Understanding behaviour management strategies
- Working alongside teachers and support staff
- Developing your communication and leadership skills
- Experiencing the wider responsibilities of working in a school
By the end of the year, you'll have a much clearer understanding of what it means to be a teacher and will be ready to take the next step.
YEAR 2 — Train to Become a Qualified Teacher
Having established yourself within the school, you'll progress into formal teacher training.
You'll begin taking greater responsibility for your own classes while completing your PGCE and working towards QTS.
You'll develop skills in:
- Lesson planning and delivery
- Assessment and tracking pupil progress
- Classroom management
- Differentiation and supporting individual needs
- Subject knowledge and teaching strategies
- Reflective practice and professional development
Throughout the year, you'll receive guidance from experienced teachers and dedicated mentors.
