About the Teaching Assistant role
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with class teachers to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. You'll support pupils across KS1 and KS2, including children with SEND and SEMH needs, helping them access learning and thrive in school.
Key responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant:
- Primary classroom support: Assist with lesson delivery across KS1 and KS2, helping pupils stay engaged and motivated.
- SEND & SEMH support: Provide tailored one‑to‑one or small‑group support for pupils with additional needs.
- Behaviour management: Use positive, age‑appropriate strategies to maintain a calm and productive classroom.
- Inclusive learning: Help create a safe, welcoming space where every child feels valued.
- Team collaboration: Work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure smooth daily routines.
- School community involvement: Contribute to wider school life, events, and initiatives.
What we're looking for in a Teaching Assistant:
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through ANZUK).
- Experience supporting primary‑aged children in a school or childcare setting.
- Understanding of SEND and how to adapt support to individual learning needs.
- The right to work in the UK.
- A positive, proactive attitude and a genuine passion for helping children succeed.
