Axcis Education is recruiting for a full-time Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive mainstream primary school in Wigan, working with Key Stage 1 (KS1) pupils. The school has been rated 'Good' by Ofsted and offers an excellent environment for both staff and students to thrive.

Pay: From £14.25 per hour, depending on experience.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Start Date: Immediate start available.
Location: Wigan – easily accessible by public transport with free on-site parking.

The Role

As a Primary School Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Work closely with KS1 pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis.
• Encourage positive learning behaviours and pupil engagement.
• Help create a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment.
• Assist children with their educational, social and emotional development.

This role would suit experienced Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants (LSAs), SEN Teaching Assistants, or individuals looking to transition into education from care or support-based roles.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• Excellent communication skills, patience and empathy.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one with our support).
• At least 6 months of relevant experience or a relevant qualification.
• For overseas candidates, a minimum of 3 months' UK-based experience is essential.
• A genuine passion for supporting children and helping them achieve their potential.
