Education First are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Greenwich on a long-term basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone with a strong background working with children who is passionate about supporting pupils with their learning, development and well-being.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils engage with lessons, develop confidence and make progress both academically and personally.

The Role – Teaching Assistant

• Supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 within the classroom and wider school environment.
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN and additional learning needs.
• Assisting teachers with the delivery of engaging lessons and learning activities.
• Supporting pupils with their literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum development.
• Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils to encourage confidence and participation.
• Supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and challenging behaviour where required.
• Helping pupils develop their social skills, independence and emotional well-being.
• Supporting classroom behaviour management and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Working alongside teachers to adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil needs.
• Providing support both inside and outside the classroom as required.
• Encouraging pupils to develop positive learning habits and achieve their potential.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience working with children in a primary school, SEN, nursery or similar educational setting.
• Experience supporting pupils with additional learning needs and challenging behaviour.
• A patient, caring and enthusiastic approach to working with children.
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
• The ability to work effectively alongside teachers and school staff.
• A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
• Experience providing 1:1 or small-group support is desirable.
• Relevant qualifications or training in education, SEN or childcare are desirable but not essential.
• The ability to adapt to different classroom environments and respond to pupils' individual needs.
