The Teaching Assistant role

As a Teaching Assistant in Tilehurst, you'll work as part of an experienced classroom team, helping pupils access learning, develop their communication and independence, and make progress towards their individual goals.

No two pupils are the same, so this Teaching Assistant role in Tilehurst, Reading needs someone who can be patient, adaptable and positive while building strong, consistent relationships with the children and young people they support.

Your role could include:

• Supporting pupils with a range of SEND and complex learning needs
• Providing individual and small-group support
• Helping pupils develop communication and interaction skills
• Supporting sensory and emotional regulation
• Encouraging independence and life skills
• Supporting pupils to access a personalised curriculum
• Following individual education, behaviour and support plans
• Recording progress and celebrating those important milestones
• Working closely with teachers and other specialist professionals
• Providing personal care where required
