Teaching Assistant - SEND / ASD

Location: Esher
Start Date: September 2026 (ASAP)
Salary: £105-£115 per day, depending on experience
Hours: 8:45am-3:15pm
Contract: Long-term

Empowering Learning is currently recruiting for a Primary Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with SEND and ASD at a welcoming school in Esher.

This is a long-term position starting in September 2026, with interviews taking place asap. Ideally, we would like potential candidates to have DBS's in place, if not, we can help accomidate a DBS for you.

We are looking for a committed, enthusiastic and compassionate Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will join a friendly and professional team within a school that values inclusion, diversity and providing the best opportunities for every child.

Teaching Assistant - Requirements

  • Experience supporting children with ASD/SEND is highly desirable.

  • Recent experience working with children in a primary school setting would be an advantage.

  • A patient, empathetic and nurturing approach to supporting children.

  • The ability to develop positive, trusting and caring relationships with pupils.

  • Good organisational and communication skills.

  • The ability to work flexibly and effectively as part of a dedicated team.

  • A positive attitude and commitment to supporting the wider school community.

Job Requirements

  • Legal right to work in the UK.

  • Enhanced DBS disclosure, or overseas police clearance where applicable.

  • Primary education experience is desirable.

  • A valid DBS is preferred, but Empowering Learning can assist with processing one if required.
