The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including:

• Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
• ADHD
• Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
• Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
• Moderate, Severe and Profound Learning Difficulties (MLD, SLD and PMLD)

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils.
• Supporting teachers in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons.
• Encouraging pupils' confidence, independence and participation in learning.
• Promoting positive behaviour through consistent and supportive strategies.
• Assisting with personal care where required.
• Helping to create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and parents to support each child's individual needs.

About You

We're looking for individuals who are:

• Passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
• Patient, caring and resilient.
• Excellent communicators who enjoy working as part of a team.
• Adaptable and able to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

You'll also need:

• Experience working with children or young people (school, care, coaching, youth work or similar experience is desirable).
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
• The right to work in the UK.

A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous but not essential. We also welcome applications from graduates, support workers, sports coaches, youth workers and individuals with transferable skills.
