The School and Role
Our client is looking to recruit a full time, Teaching Assistant to join the school from September 2026. We are looking for staff with experience supporting pupils in a mainstream or special needs setting. Relevant experience will be considered. This school are looking to recruit staff and offer a permanent contract with full training and support available with the aim to develop the skills of each member of staff.
This is a SEN school in Harrow on the Hill, North West London who have recently moved into a purpose build space. This is an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who is looking to work in a rewarding environment as this school expands meaning natural progression available for staff. This school do not tolerate challenging behaviour and the students are here to receive the support they require. Staff here are not expected to manage behaviour more than they support the learning for pupils.
This school caters for students with a range of special educational needs such as Autism (ASC) and Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH). The school is welcoming, friendly, and supportive. The new Headteacher makes his way around the school each morning to welcome their students and staff, they hold a morning de-brief to ensure staff are supported and any concerns are raised and dealt with accordingly.
Dress code here is relaxed, small class sizes of up to 4/6 students could be expected. The school are accepting referrals from local mainstream schools to ensure support is available to those students.
Requirements
The desired Teaching Assistant will:
- experience supporting pupils in a mainstream or special needs setting
- have a warm and friendly nature to be able to build positive relationships with pupils
- passionate about supporting children with barriers to learning
