Horizon Teachers are looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a daily supply basis within a welcoming primary school in Kingston.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience working with children who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and helping them reach their full potential.
The role will involve:
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support to primary-aged pupils with SEN
- Supporting children with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs and SEMH
- Helping pupils access the curriculum and participate in classroom activities
- Supporting children with their emotional wellbeing, confidence and behaviour
- Working closely with the class teacher and SEN team
- Supporting pupils during lessons, break times and lunchtime
- Creating a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment
- Previous experience working with children, ideally within a school, nursery or SEN setting
- A patient, caring and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with children quickly
- Confidence supporting pupils with additional needs
- A flexible and adaptable approach to daily supply work
