Contract: Temporary until Christmas initially, with the possibility of extension

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming primary school team from 7th September on a full-time basis. This role will initially run until the Christmas break, with the opportunity for an extension should both the school and successful candidate wish to continue the placement.

The successful candidate will support teaching and learning across the primary age range, working closely with class teachers to help pupils achieve their full potential in a positive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality lessons and learning activities.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Provide additional support for pupils with varying learning needs.
  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Assist with the preparation of classroom resources and displays.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Support pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Assist with playground duties and other school activities where required.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children within a school, nursery, or educational setting is desirable.
  • A passion for supporting children's learning and development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A patient, caring, and proactive approach.
  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
