Teaching Assistant

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a reliable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils in schools across the Andover area. This role involves working closely with teachers to support learning in the classroom and help pupils stay engaged, confident, and on track throughout the school day.

You will provide a combination of 1:1 support and small‑group assistance, helping pupils who may need additional guidance with their learning, behaviour, or confidence. This is a varied and rewarding role suited to someone who enjoys working with young people and making a positive impact in education.

• Support teaching and learning within the classroom
• Provide 1:1 support and assist with small‑group work
• Help pupils stay focused, engaged, and confident in lessons
• Assist with classroom activities, lessons, and resources
• Support behaviour and encourage positive routines
• Build strong relationships with pupils and staff
• Contribute to a calm and inclusive learning environment
• Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently

• Experience working with children or young people
• Patient, supportive, and confident in a classroom setting
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Adaptable and able to respond to varying pupil needs
• Reliable and proactive approach
• Backgrounds in childcare, youth work, coaching, or education welcomed

• Position: Teaching Assistant
• Location: Andover
• Start Date: ASAP
• Working Pattern: Full‑time, term‑time
• Pay Rate: £14.25 - £15.66 per hour
• Key Stages: Primary / SecondaryExperience, Training & Safeguarding:

• Experience working with children desirable
• SEN experience beneficial but not essential
• Safeguarding training can be provided
