We are currently recruiting for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Prestwich from September.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and helping them succeed both academically and personally. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure students remain engaged in learning and are able to reach their full potential throughout their secondary education.
We welcome applications from candidates with experience in education, tutoring, sports coaching, mentoring, youth work, care work, or voluntary roles involving young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students across Key Stages 3 and 4 in a classroom setting
- Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning
- Help students build confidence, independence, and engagement with learning
- Assist teachers in delivering effective and inclusive lessons
- Support students with varying abilities and learning needs
- Promote positive behaviour and a productive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SEN teams, and pastoral staff
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational, coaching, mentoring, care, or voluntary capacity
- Previous tutoring, sports coaching, or youth work experience is highly desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive, proactive, and adaptable approach
- Ability to build strong relationships with students and staff
- Passion for supporting young people and their development
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
