Teaching Assistant - Eastleigh

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a motivated and reliable Teaching Assistant to support pupils in schools across the Eastleigh area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to play an active role in supporting their learning and development.

Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will provide classroom support, assist with learning activities, and help ensure pupils remain engaged and confident throughout the school day. Support may be provided on a 1:1 basis or through small‑group interventions, depending on the needs of the school.

This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain valuable experience within education while making a positive impact on pupils' progress and wellbeing.

The Role:

  • Support teaching and learning within the classroom
  • Provide 1:1 support and assist with small‑group activities
  • Help pupils remain engaged, focused, and motivated during lessons
  • Assist with lesson preparation, classroom resources, and activities
  • Support positive behaviour and encourage productive learning habits
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children or young people
  • Patient, supportive, and approachable manner
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Adaptable and responsive to different learning needs
  • Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Backgrounds in childcare, youth work, coaching, or education welcomed
  • Graduates looking to gain educational experience encouraged to apply

Contract Details:

  • Position: Teaching Assistant
  • Location: Eastleigh
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Working Pattern: Full‑time, term‑time
  • Pay Rate: £14.25 - £15.66 per hour
  • Key Stages: Primary / Secondary

Experience, Training & Safeguarding:

  • Experience working with children desirable
  • SEN experience beneficial but not essential
  • Safeguarding training can be provided
