Prospero Teaching are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join primary schools across Swindon. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and is passionate about supporting their learning, development and confidence within a mainstream classroom.
The successful candidate will work alongside the class teacher to provide classroom, one-to-one and small-group support, helping pupils stay engaged and make progress. You may support children across different year groups and abilities, so a flexible and positive approach is important.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting the class teacher with day-to-day classroom activities
- Providing one-to-one and small-group learning support
- Helping pupils stay focused, engaged and motivated
- Supporting literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum activities
- Encouraging positive behaviour and good classroom routines
- Helping pupils develop confidence and independence
- Preparing classroom resources and learning activities
- Working effectively with teachers and other support staff
- Creating a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment
Ideal candidate:
- Previous experience working with children is desirable
- School or classroom experience is beneficial but not essential
- A patient, caring and enthusiastic approach
- Confident communicating with children and staff
- Reliable, adaptable and able to work as part of a team
- Passionate about supporting children's education and development
- Relevant qualifications are desirable but not always essential
