Teaching Assistant

A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Balham is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join the school on a full-time, term-time-only basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant to become part of a supportive school environment and play an important role in helping children achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will primarily support a Year 3 class, working closely with the class teacher to provide high-quality learning and pastoral support.

The successful Teaching Assistant will:

• Support pupils within a Year 3 classroom.

• Work closely with the class teacher to support teaching and learning.

• Provide additional support to pupils who may require extra assistance.

• Help pupils develop their confidence, independence and academic skills.

• Support classroom activities and small-group interventions.

• Assist with the preparation of learning resources and activities.

• Promote a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

• Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and families.

The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant who:

• Has previous experience working within a primary school setting.

• Has a genuine passion for supporting children and their education.

• Is patient, nurturing and approachable.

• Can demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills.
