About the Role
A well established secondary school in Camden is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join its team on a long term basis, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position for the right candidate.
This is an excellent opportunity to support students in achieving their full potential while working alongside experienced teachers in a welcoming and inclusive school. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting learning, promoting positive behaviour and helping to create an engaging classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support teachers in delivering high quality lessons.
- Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce learning.
- Provide additional support for students with SEND where required.
- Assist with the preparation of classroom resources and learning materials.
- Encourage positive behaviour and student engagement.
- Help monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Support students' academic, social and emotional development.
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
Person Specification
Essential
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role within a school.
- Experience supporting children or young people in an educational setting.
- A positive, patient and supportive approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their full potential.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
Desirable
- Experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- First Aid qualification.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures within schools.
