Primary Teaching Assistant (KS1) – Penzance Area

Are you a passionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a primary school setting?

We are recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Penzance area. This varied and rewarding role will involve supporting a Key Stage 1 class, delivering small group interventions, and providing one-to-one support for pupils with additional educational needs.

The Role
  • Support teaching and learning within a Key Stage 1 classroom.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and small group activities to help pupils reach their full potential.
  • Provide one-to-one support for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), adapting learning to meet individual needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Promote pupils' confidence, independence, and positive behaviour throughout the school day.
We're Looking For
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school is desirable.
  • Experience supporting children with SEN is highly advantageous.
  • A caring, patient and proactive approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for helping children thrive both academically and socially.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
