Teaching Assistant - Secondary School
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for your next role in a secondary school setting?
Teaching Personnel is working with various welcoming and supportive secondary schools in the Old Trafford (M32) area of Manchester, seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support students both inside and outside the classroom. You will help create a positive learning environment, provide targeted academic support, and assist pupils in reaching their full potential.
Responsibilities
- Supporting students across KS3 and KS4 in lessons.
- Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning.
- Assisting teachers with classroom management and lesson delivery.
- Encouraging student engagement, confidence and progress.
- Providing additional support for pupils with varying learning needs.
- Always promoting positive behaviour
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or within a secondary school environment.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting young people.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
