Are you a caring, patient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful difference to a child’s education and development?

Supply Register is proud to be working in partnership with Pinnacle Trust, We are seeking a committed 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support to a pupil, helping them to access learning, develop confidence and thrive within the school environment.

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team to provide tailored support to a pupil with additional needs.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil throughout the school day.

• Supporting the pupil to access the curriculum and participate fully in classroom activities.

• Adapting and reinforcing learning activities to meet individual needs.

• Supporting communication, social interaction and emotional development.

• Helping the pupil to develop independence, confidence and positive learning behaviours.

• Providing support with transitions between lessons, activities and different areas of the school.

• Working with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual support strategies and agreed interventions.

• Supporting small-group activities where appropriate.

• Encouraging positive relationships with peers and promoting inclusion within the classroom.

• Maintaining a calm, nurturing and supportive approach when responding to challenging or dysregulated behaviour.

• Contributing to a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.

• Following school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and behaviour management.

Every day will be different, but you could be:

• Supporting a pupil during lessons to help them understand and complete their learning.

• Breaking tasks down into manageable steps and providing additional encouragement.

• Using practical resources and visual supports to aid communication and understanding.

• Supporting emotional regulation and helping the pupil manage transitions or changes in routine.

• Encouraging independence rather than completing tasks on the pupil’s behalf.

• Working alongside the class teacher to ensure the pupil remains engaged and included.

• Supporting the pupil during break and lunchtime where required.

• Helping create a positive classroom environment where every child feels valued and supported.

We are looking for someone who is:

• A strong communicator who can work effectively with teachers, support staff and parents/carers where appropriate.

• Committed to promoting inclusion, independence and positive outcomes for every child.

• Reliable, professional and able to work effectively as part of a wider school team.

Previous experience working with children with SEND, autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, social and emotional needs or complex learning needs would be advantageous. However, we also welcome applications from candidates with relevant transferable experience who demonstrate the right attitude, patience and commitment to supporting children.
