Tradewind Recruitment is working with a fantastic primary school in Potters Bar that is looking to appoint a committed and compassionate KS2 1:1 Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September 2026, with the flexibility for an earlier start if you're available.
This is an exciting opportunity to provide dedicated one-to-one support for a Key Stage 2 pupil, helping them develop confidence, overcome barriers to learning and thrive both academically and socially within a caring, inclusive school community.
With the potential to move into a full-time position from January and a permanent contract from April, this role offers excellent long-term career prospects.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a Key Stage 2 pupil
- Encouraging confidence, independence and engagement in learning
- Supporting the child's academic, emotional and social development
- Working closely with the class teacher and SEND team to deliver targeted interventions
- Adapting support to meet the pupil's individual needs
- Building positive relationships with parents, staff and the wider school community
- Helping to create a nurturing and positive learning environment every day
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Has previous experience supporting primary-aged children, ideally in Key Stage 2
- Is confident working on a one-to-one basis with pupils who require additional learning or emotional support
- Is patient, caring and naturally nurturing
- Can build strong relationships with children, colleagues and families
- Is flexible, proactive and eager to make a lasting impact
- Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or has equivalent school-based experience
