Full-Time | Long-Term Temporary Contract | Start Date: 1st September 2026

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference every day?

An Alternative Provision in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, is looking to appoint a dedicated KS2 Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team from 1st September 2026. Working with pupils who have been excluded from mainstream education, you'll play a vital role in helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve both academically and emotionally.

With small class sizes of typically 2-8 pupils, you'll have the opportunity to build strong relationships, provide individualised support, and help create a positive learning environment where every child can thrive.

This long-term opportunity has become available due to staffing changes and would suit someone who is calm, resilient, nurturing and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.

• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or in a similar education role within UK schools
• A minimum of 1 year's experience supporting children in a classroom environment
• Experience supporting KS2 pupils, ideally within SEN, SEMH or Alternative Provision settings (desirable but not essential)
• Excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils
• A patient, consistent and resilient approach when supporting children with social, emotional and behavioural needs
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one)
• The legal right to work in the UK
• Availability to start full-time from 1st September 2026

• £95 - £115 per day, depending on experience
• Full-time, long-term temporary contract with the potential to become permanent
