The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support students across a range of subjects, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment. You will provide both classroom and small-group support, ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities
- Support teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
- Provide one-to-one and small-group intervention sessions.
- Assist students with varying learning needs, including those with SEND where required.
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement within the classroom.
- Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Promote students' confidence, independence and resilience.
- Support the wider school community during breaktimes, enrichment activities and school events.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience working with young people in a school, college, youth work or tutoring environment (desirable but not essential).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, patient and proactive attitude.
- The ability to build strong relationships with students and staff.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- A genuine passion for education and supporting young people's development.
- A degree is desirable for graduates looking to pursue a career in teaching but is not essential.
