Teaching Assistant

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a new long-term opportunity in Chesterfield?

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Junior School in Chesterfield from 7th September 2026, ideally for the full academic year.

You will work across Key Stage 2 classes, supporting pupils with their learning and helping to create a positive, engaging classroom environment. You will also provide targeted support for children with additional needs, including working with pupils in the school's breakout area.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting
• Has a good understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum
• Is confident supporting behaviour for learning
• Can build positive relationships with pupils and encourage their confidence and independence
• Has experience supporting children with additional needs
• Is patient, proactive and adaptable
• Works well as part of a wider school team
• Can commit to a full-time, long-term position

You will be supporting pupils across KS2, working closely with class teachers to help children make progress with their learning. You will also provide additional support to pupils who require more targeted intervention or support outside of the main classroom environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced TA who is looking for a stable, long-term role within a supportive Chesterfield primary school.
