Teaching Assistant - 1:1 SEN Support - Crosby

Location: Crosby, Sefton
Start Date: Immediate start until 16th October 2026

Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
Pay: Competitive daily rate, dependent on experience

Tradewind Education is recruiting for an experienced Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 10 female pupil at a supportive secondary school in Crosby.

The pupil has Autism and complex social and emotional needs and requires a consistent, understanding and nurturing member of staff who can support her throughout the school day.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers, build confidence and engage positively with education.

The Role

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the pupil and the school's SEND team to provide personalised support with:

  • Social and emotional development and building positive relationships.
  • Supporting her wellbeing and emotional regulation.
  • Encouraging engagement with learning and supporting her academically.
  • Developing confidence, resilience and independence.
  • Managing challenges that may arise during the school day.
  • Supporting positive communication and interaction with peers and staff.
  • Helping the pupil to feel safe, settled and able to access the school environment.
  • Working consistently with school staff to implement appropriate support strategies.

The successful candidate will build a strong professional relationship with the pupil while maintaining appropriate boundaries, consistency and expectations.

Requirements

To be considered, you will need:

  • An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • A full career history
  • At least two professional references, including your most recent placement
  • The legal right to work in the UK
