Smile Education is looking for a qualified and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in TS4, Middlesbrough, from September 2026.

You will work alongside experienced teachers and support staff who value teamwork and the contribution of their Teaching Assistants.
The RoleAs a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching and senior staff to support pupils and help create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils in the classroom and across the school
- Providing additional support to pupils with SEND and additional needs
- Supporting individual learning, behaviour and SEND plans
- Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive relationships
- Supporting the teacher with classroom management and learning activities
- Monitoring and recording pupil progress
- Supporting literacy, numeracy and other curriculum activities
- Promoting positive behaviour and dealing appropriately with incidents
- Preparing classroom resources and assisting with displays
- Supporting pupils during break times, lunchtimes and school activities
- Assisting with educational visits and trips where required
- Following safeguarding, health and safety and school policies
- Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification – Level 2 or Level 3
- Previous experience working within a UK school setting
- Experience supporting children and young people
- DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
- Contactable professional references from schools/employers
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Reliable, professional and committed to supporting pupils
- Right to work in the UK
