Salary: £140 - £160 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a secondary school based in Berwick-upon-Tweed that is looking for a supportive and resilient Teaching Assistant. The school is looking for someone who can build positive relationships with students and contribute towards a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

The school is looking to take on a Teaching Assistant on a short-term basis with an ASAP start. The successful Teaching Assistant will support secondary-aged students with SEMH needs in the classroom, working alongside teaching staff to encourage engagement, manage behaviour and provide additional support where required.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting
• Experience supporting young people with SEMH needs
• Experience within a secondary school is desirable
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• A patient and resilient approach
• The ability to build positive relationships with students
