We are seeking enthusiastic, caring, and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school community within a successful multi-academy trust in the Leicester area. The organisation is committed to high standards, inclusion, and pupil wellbeing.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils throughout the school day, helping them to achieve their full potential both inside and outside the classroom.

Typical Responsibilities

  • Supporting teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning.
  • Assisting pupils with literacy, numeracy, and wider curriculum activities.
  • Supporting children with SEND, EAL, and additional learning needs.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting independence.
  • Helping pupils develop confidence, resilience, and social skills.
  • Supervising pupils during breaktimes and lunchtimes.
  • Supporting emotional wellbeing and safeguarding children at all times.
  • Preparing classroom resources and learning materials.
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teachers.
  • Assisting with intervention programmes and targeted support sessions.
  • Contributing to a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.

  • Has a genuine passion for working with children.

  • Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Is flexible, resilient, and able to adapt to different situations.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Has previous experience working with children (desirable but not essential).
  • Holds a Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant training (desirable).
