Central Recruitment is working with an organisation that provides supported housing and living services to vulnerable adults suffering from mental health conditions and homelessness. 

​Our client is currently recruiting for two Team Leaders to work in the Lewisham area. One role is based within a 79-bed service supporting individuals with mental health needs, while the other is within an 80-bed service supporting individuals with complex and multiple needs, including mental health challenges and substance misuse.

  • ​45 hours per week
  • Working across Monday - Sunday, with a requirement to work every other weekend
  • Shifts: 08:00 - 18:00
  • Temporary: approx. 3 months, with the possibility of becoming permanent
  • £18.44 per hour (£16.45 per hour, with £1.99 holiday pay)

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the service and provide leadership to the staff team
  • Ensure staff receive appropriate training, supervision, guidance, and support to perform their roles effectively
  • Maintain effective communication with internal teams, families, and external stakeholders
  • Ensure safe staffing levels and appropriate management cover across the service
  • Manage petty cash in line with company policies
  • Oversee support delivery, ensuring residents' needs are met and independence is promoted
  • Manage systems relating to residents' personal finances and expenses
  • Prepare reports for reviews, case conferences, CPA meetings, and court proceedings as required
  • Liaise with healthcare professionals and partner agencies to support residents' health and wellbeing
  • Support recruitment activities and staff development in line with organisational procedures
  • Monitor and manage service budgets effectively
  • Ensure complaints are handled promptly, recorded accurately, and managed in line with policy

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience providing support to a team of staff
  • A clear understanding of safeguarding and the reporting process required
  • Experience of service delivery and support
  • Knowledge and understanding of mental health conditions
  • Experience compiling comprehensive assessments and SMART action plans
  • IT skills necessary to compile correspondence and reports

Further requirements:

In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Current valid right to work in the UK
  • Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)
  • A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)
  • Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
