Team Leader at Glassolutions, Dudley, West Midlands

At Glassolutions we are looking for a Team Leader to work in our Dudley manufacturing site on Double Days, helping to deliver our agreed output targets, within set safety and quality standards thus ensuring customers receive their orders on time and in full.

This Team Leader role will be a part of the operational team at our site in Dudley. You'll be responsible for a team of up to 15 operatives and drive them to achieve KPI targets (Productivity/Glass Loss/Quality) as agreed; working with the Maintenance Engineers to in order to ensure highest possible quality

Glassolutions is part of Saint-Gobain - the UK's leading provider of glass and glazing solutions to the architectural, construction, building maintenance, door and window sectors. Our Dudley branch is our Glassolutions UK centre of excellence for glass toughening. Here we process and toughen the widest variety of glass for domestic sealed units. With decades of experience and a highly skilled processing team, we stock 120 types of glass with 55 types available to toughen for our customers.

If you're looking for a days-based role to suit your current circumstances, then this one's for you! Week one you'll work 6am till 2.15pm from Mon - Fri (2.30pm finish on Friday), and week two the hours are 2pm until 10.15pm (10.30pm on Friday). You'll be contracted to a 39-hour week. What we're looking for:

• Experience of a leadership role in a manufacturing / production environment (Glass Production would be ideal but not essential as we'll consider candidates from other industries)
• Ensure effective communications both verbal and written - good levels of numeracy, literacy, and IT skills
• Exposure to implementing continuous improvement projects / cultural change
• Proven knowledge of the process flow and systems of work across production environments
• Committed to achieving high personal and professional standards and strong analytical skills
• Strong quality and customer service focus
• A H&S qualification would be advantageous

What you will be doing:

• Actively communicate with all team members and set clear and measurable objectives, motivating the teams around the company strategy and vision.
• Be an ambassador for our company values; commitment to safety and quality; and uphold the principles of conduct and action.
• Develop a high-performance team environment through employee engagement
• Identify training and development requirements for maximising efficiency
• Liaise closely with Maintenance Team to ensure full adherence to the planned maintenance schedule; ensuring equipment and resources are available.
• Support thorough investigations for plant breakdowns; enabling the teams to actively reduce impact on production through driving effective reporting and root cause analysis so sustainable measures can be introduced.
• Use CI tools and methodologies to identify opportunities for improvements
