The Role

As a Team Leader, you will support the day-to-day operation of the home, lead shifts and help create a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment where children and young people can thrive.

You will support staff teams, promote positive outcomes, ensure safeguarding standards are maintained and contribute towards the home's compliance with Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and Ofsted requirements.

The home provides specialist care and support for children and young people requiring 2:1 and 3:1 staffing arrangements, so experience working with complex behaviours, emotional needs and trauma-informed approaches would be highly beneficial.

  • Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.

  • Support care planning, record keeping and compliance requirements.

  • Work closely with families, social workers and external professionals.

  • Contribute to staff development, inductions and training.

  • Help maintain a positive culture and high standards across the service.

Applicants must have previous experience within a Children's Residential Home and experience supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs.

You should hold, or be willing to work towards, a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare and have the ability to lead shifts, support staff and work effectively within a leadership team.

Previous experience as a Senior Residential Support Worker or Team Leader would be advantageous, along with experience supporting children requiring higher levels of staffing and intervention.
