We are currently recruiting on behalf of a residential childcare provider for an experienced Team Leader Residential Childcare Worker to join a dedicated team supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs.

The Role

As a Team Leader, you will support the management team while leading shifts and providing high-quality care to children and young people within the home.

You'll help create a positive, structured and supportive environment that encourages young people to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support residential care staff during shifts.
  • Act as a positive role model for both colleagues and young people.
  • Support children and young people with their emotional, social and practical development.
  • Encourage attendance and engagement with education and activities.
  • Promote independence and life skills development.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports and care documentation.
  • Build positive relationships with families and external professionals.
  • Ensure safeguarding and welfare remain a priority at all times.
  • Participate in activities, outings and programmes alongside young people.
  • Contribute to a safe, welcoming and homely environment.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Experience within residential childcare or a similar setting.
  • Level 3/4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or working towards).
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • A caring, resilient and child-centred approach.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting positive outcomes for young people.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Understanding of Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Shift Pattern

  • 8:00am - 11:00pm shift
  • Sleep-in: 11:00pm - 8:00am
