About the Role

As a Team Manager within Cared for Children, you will lead and support a team of social work practitioners, providing strong supervision, guidance and leadership to help achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team responsible for care planning and reviews for looked after children and young people.

• Provide strong supervision, guidance and support, including to ASYE social workers.

• Lead complex assessments, interventions and safeguarding work.

• Support children and young people to understand their life journey and identity.

• Develop strong relationships with children, families and carers.

• Manage complex risk and support effective decision-making.

• Work collaboratively with partner agencies to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.

• Support court-related work, assessment and analysis.

• Contribute to service development and practice improvement.

• Share knowledge and expertise to develop less experienced practitioners.

Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.

• Significant experience working with Cared for / Looked After Children.

• Experience in safeguarding and managing complex risk.

• Strong assessment, analysis and court skills.

• Demonstrable experience of supervision and team leadership.

• Child-centred and relationship-focused approach.

• Full valid driving licence and access to a car.
