Eden Brown Synergy is recruiting an experienced Team Manager to join Haverings Fostering and Kinship Recruitment & Assessment Team on a locum basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced fostering and kinship professional to lead a specialist assessment team responsible for the delivery and oversight of Connected Persons, Kinship, Special Guardianship and Fostering assessments.
Working within a supportive management structure, you will provide strong leadership, quality assurance and decision-making to ensure children are able to live safely within their family networks wherever possible.

Based at Romford Town Hall, this hybrid role offers a balanced working arrangement of 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.

Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and management oversight within the Fostering and Kinship Recruitment & Assessment Team
Allocate work across the team and monitor performance against service objectives and statutory timescales
Quality assure and sign off viability assessments, fostering assessments, Special Guardianship assessments, kinship assessments and Special Guardianship support plans
Ensure high-quality assessment practice that meets statutory requirements and local authority standards
Provide supervision, support and professional development to social workers and assessment staff
Manage complex cases and provide guidance on fostering, kinship and permanence planning
Work collaboratively with children's social care teams, legal services, fostering panels and partner agencies
Develop effective working relationships with Independent Social Workers and commissioned assessment providers
Ensure assessments and reports are court-ready and completed to a high professional standard
Promote positive outcomes for children through robust family network and permanence planning
Essential Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet DfE agency worker requirements and have:
Social Work England registration
A recognised social work qualification
Significant post-qualifying experience within Childrens Social Care
Previous experience working as a Team Manager within a Fostering and Kinship Assessment Team
Extensive experience of allocating work, quality assuring and signing off viability, fostering, Special Guardianship and kinship assessments
Experience managing and overseeing Special Guardianship support plans
Experience working with Independent Social Workers and commissioned assessment providers
Strong knowledge of fostering regulations, kinship care legislation and permanence planning
