Hours: Monday – Friday | 8:00am – 5:00pm
Location: Manchester (Denton office) with hybrid working and national travel

Are you an experienced engineering leader with a strong facilities management background? Do you enjoy leading large engineering teams, driving operational performance, and supporting nationwide service delivery? Our client, a leading provider of integrated facilities management and infrastructure solutions is hiring for a Technical Contracts Manager (Facilities) to lead the delivery of maintenance operations across a national portfolio, managing a large field-based engineering team while working closely with supervisors, planners, administrators and senior stakeholders.

As Technical Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of a nationwide engineering workforce, ensuring high standards of service delivery, technical support, SFG20 compliance and customer satisfaction. Working from our Denton office 2–3 days per week, you'll also travel across the UK to support engineers, resolve operational issues and maintain strong client relationships. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a technical engineering background who is ready to take ownership of operational performance across a busy, fast-paced facilities management contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a nationwide team of 50+ maintenance engineers.
  • Provide leadership and support to supervisors, planners and office-based scheduling teams.
  • Drive operational performance, productivity and service delivery.
  • Produce and present monthly operational reports, KPIs and performance data.
  • Coach, develop and manage employee performance.
  • Support technical problem-solving and operational decision-making.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Travel nationally to support engineering teams and resolve operational challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and industry standards.

About You

  • Previous experience managing large, geographically dispersed engineering teams.
  • A strong technical engineering background – ideally Electrical
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Experience managing service delivery or maintenance contracts.
  • Knowledge of CAFM systems and service performance reporting.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide.
