You'll be joining a large, highly regulated organisation delivering strategic technology and cybersecurity initiatives within a complex enterprise environment. This role sits within a critical technology function responsible for driving secure, scalable, and high-quality technology solutions.
Your new role
We are looking for an experienced Technical Delivery Manager to lead the delivery of complex technology and cybersecurity programmes across multiple workstreams and engineering teams.You will act as the key interface between business stakeholders, product owners, architects, engineering teams, and senior leadership, ensuring successful planning, prioritisation, governance, and execution of strategic initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of strategic technology and cybersecurity programmes
- Translate business objectives and requirements into actionable delivery plans
- Manage demand intake, prioritisation, delivery planning, and execution
- Deliver projects using Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies
- Manage delivery risks, dependencies, issues, and blockers
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, backlog refinement, and release planning
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across engineering teams
- Monitor team performance, throughput, quality, predictability, and velocity
- Establish governance frameworks to support programme oversight and decision-making
- Lead governance forums, stakeholder meetings, steering committees, and executive reporting
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Ensure alignment with technology governance, security controls, and development standards
- Support modern engineering practices including DevOps and continuous delivery
- Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting dashboards, and knowledge repositories
What you'll need to succeed
Essential skills and experience
- Minimum 8 years' experience in Technical Delivery Management, Programme Management, Project Management, or Product Management
- Proven experience delivering large-scale technology programmes
- Strong Agile delivery experience, including Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies
- Deep understanding of Agile SDLC concepts including:
- Product Backlogs
- Features and User Stories
- Acceptance Criteria
- Definition of Ready (DoR)
- Definition of Done (DoD)
- Sprint Planning and Retrospectives
- Experience leading cross-functional teams within global delivery environments
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, and Atlassian tools
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience identifying and removing delivery impediments
- Experience mentoring and coaching teams on Agile delivery best practice
Desirable skills and experience
- Financial Services experience
- Experience working within Cybersecurity, Risk, or CISO functions
- Knowledge of SAFe or Large-Scale Scrum (LeSS)
- Experience supporting DevOps and CI/CD practices
- Experience driving organisational change and innovation initiatives
- Experience partnering with third-party vendors and external delivery teams
- Understanding of scalable architecture patterns, distributed systems, and backend service design
