Technical Manager - Legacy Projects

Are you an experienced Technical Manager with a background in residential development and legacy site management?

We are working with a leading UK residential developer who is looking to appoint an experienced Technical Legacy Manager on a contract basis to support the delivery of key legacy and building safety projects across its North London portfolio.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of land transfers, Resident Management Companies (RMCs), managing agents and post-completion technical matters.

The Role

Reporting to the Technical Director, you will take ownership of legacy developments, helping to transfer responsibilities from the developer to Resident Management Companies while also managing the completion programme for Building Safety Case Reports (BSCRs) across multiple High-Rise Residential Buildings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the transfer of legacy residential developments into residential control.
  • Coordinate land transfers and Resident Management Company (RMC) handovers.
  • Chair meetings with solicitors, technical teams and asset managers to drive progress.
  • Manage programmes for managed land transfers and RMC director resignations.
  • Coordinate the handover of public spaces, country parks and other managed land.
  • Oversee the completion of Building Safety Case Reports across multiple high-rise residential buildings.
  • Review and coordinate legacy technical issues including:
    • Fire Risk Assessments
    • Fire Door Surveys
    • Managing Agent defect reports
  • Provide regular progress updates and delivery forecasts to senior management.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

  • Previous experience working as a Technical Manager within a volume housebuilder
  • Proven experience managing legacy issues on completed residential developments.
  • Strong knowledge of Resident Management Companies, managing agents and land transfer processes.
  • Experience transferring RMCs from developer control to resident-led organisations.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to coordinate multiple workstreams and deliver projects to programme.
  • A methodical approach with excellent attention to detail.
