Role: Technical Manager
Location: Milton Keynes
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours a week
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience
An excellent opportunity has now arisen for an experienced Technical Manager to join a well-established client based in Milton Keynes, within the Food & Manufacturing industry.
This is a key leadership role responsible for managing food safety, quality standards, legal compliance, and continuous improvement across the factory operation. You will be working closely with production and senior management teams, ensuring the highest standards of food safety, product quality and operational compliance are consistently achieved.

Duties of a Technical Manager:
- Lead and manage all technical and quality functions within the factory
- Manage the site’s transition from SALSA certification to BRCGS accreditation
- Develop, implement, and maintain BRC-compliant systems and procedures
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety, legal, and customer requirements
- Manage customer, third-party, and regulatory audits
- Oversee quality assurance systems, documentation, and traceability procedures
- Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints, implementing corrective and preventative actions
- Monitor factory hygiene, GMP, and food safety standards
- Manage and develop the technical and QA team
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and external auditors
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site
What we would like from you:
- Proven experience in a Technical Manager or Senior QA role within food manufacturing
- Strong working knowledge of SALSA and BRCGS standards
- Demonstrable experience preparing for or managing BRC audits
- Excellent understanding of HACCP, TACCP, VACCP, and UK food legislation
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to drive change and implement robust quality systems
- Level 4 HACCP qualification desirable
