Example Recruitment Group is delighted to be working with an established and growing specialist within the Water Hygiene and compliance sector, who is looking to appoint an experienced Technical Plumbing Engineer to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified and experienced plumber who enjoys the technical and problem-solving side of the trade and is looking to develop their career within the Water Hygiene and Legionella compliance industry.

The position will involve carrying out a variety of plumbing remedial works, system improvements and Water Hygiene-related projects across client sites. You'll be trusted to work independently, diagnose problems and deliver high-quality solutions while being supported by an experienced and growing team.

The Role

As a Technical Plumbing Engineer, you'll be responsible for delivering plumbing and Water Hygiene remedial works across a variety of client sites.

Your responsibilities will include:

Carrying out plumbing remedial works including pipework modifications, valve replacements and system upgrades

Diagnosing faults, leaks and non-compliant plumbing installations

Identifying appropriate remedial solutions and completing works to a high standard

Carrying out modifications and improvements to hot and cold water systems

Supporting and undertaking water tank cleaning and disinfection works

Carrying out system flushing and associated Water Hygiene works

Applying the correct control measures and disinfection procedures

Working from Legionella Risk Assessments, method statements and site instructions

Identifying remedial requirements and completing necessary corrective works

Working within plant rooms and other technical environments

Completing accurate service records, reports and certification

Communicating professionally with clients, supervisors and other site personnel

Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with relevant regulations and industry standards

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a practical and technically capable plumber who is confident working independently and solving problems on site.

You'll ideally have:

Proven experience within plumbing, remedial plumbing or maintenance

Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities

Good knowledge of hot and cold water systems

Experience carrying out pipework modifications, repairs and upgrades

Experience working within plant rooms and technical environments

A strong understanding of plumbing compliance

The ability to manage your own workload and work independently

A professional and client-focused approach

Strong attention to detail

A full UK driving licence

Water Hygiene Experience

Previous Water Hygiene or Legionella experience would be a significant advantage, although we're particularly interested in speaking with technically strong plumbers who have the right transferable experience.

Experience or knowledge in any of the following would be beneficial:

Water Hygiene and Legionella control

ACOP L8 and HSG274

Hot and cold water systems

Water tank cleaning and disinfection

System flushing

Remedial works following Legionella Risk Assessments

Water system compliance

Qualifications

Ideally, you'll hold:

NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 Plumbing, or equivalent

G3 Unvented qualification – desirable

Clean & Disinfection of Hot & Cold Water Systems – desirable

Confined Space Awareness – desirable
