Assignment Overview
An experienced independent consultancy or Personal Service Company (PSC) providing high-calibre Technical Project Management services is required to lead the Process Integration package for a major advanced industrial manufacturing facility.
Operating outside IR35, this B2B assignment centers on bridging engineering design and physical facility delivery. The service provider will assume full accountability for turning complex process equipment packages into milestone-driven deliverables—ensuring systems are integrated safely, verified against rigorous quality benchmarks, and commissioned on schedule.
Key Deliverables & Service Scope
The PSC will deliver independent technical leadership across the full lifecycle of process equipment integration, with key accountabilities including:
- End-to-End Process Integration: Provide technical direction and milestone oversight to integrate complex manufacturing process equipment (battery systems or equivalent advanced manufacturing tech) with site-level civil, MEP, and IT infrastructure.
- Interface & Dependency Resolution: Map, manage, and de-risk critical multi-discipline technical interfaces between engineering design, facility construction teams, and digital/IT architecture.
- Commercial & Supplier Oversight: Direct the technical package tender lifecycle, including technical evaluation, scope definition, supplier onboarding, and performance management of specialist OEMs and subcontractors under high-value contracts.
- Programme Assurance & Delivery Control: Establish and maintain milestone-based delivery schedules, proactively mitigating technical, supply chain, and integration risks before they impact site readiness.
- Quality & Commissioning Compliance: Execute structured oversight to ensure installed equipment meets operational intent, process safety standards, and factory readiness criteria.
To deliver this scope effectively, the appointed provider must demonstrate:
- Specialist Integration Expertise: Proven capability in process engineering integration within capital-intensive, high-technology environments (direct exposure to battery manufacturing or equivalent complex process lines strongly preferred).
- Major Project Leadership: A track record of delivering high-value industrial facility or advanced manufacturing programmes from design freeze through to operational handover.
- Contract & Commercial Acumen: Experience delivering under formal supplier contracts, managing technical variations, and driving delivery accountability across multi-vendor consortia.
- Independent Advisory: High autonomy, authoritative stakeholder management, and the ability to steer multidisciplinary teams toward technical and commercial resolution.
This engagement is structured for an independent consultancy operating via an incorporated entity (PSC) on an Outside IR35 basis (subject to full IR35 Determination), determined by clear project deliverables, operational autonomy, and commercial risk transfer.
