Are you an experienced Technical Sales Advisor looking to join a well-established and growing distributor of specialist building products?

We are recruiting for a Technical Sales Advisor to join a highly successful Bristol branch within a national business that has built an outstanding reputation over more than 25 years. This is an excellent opportunity for a Technical Sales Advisor who enjoys building customer relationships, driving sales growth, and working within a fast-paced construction materials environment.

As a Technical Sales Advisor, you will become part of a supportive and experienced team, working alongside branch colleagues and technical specialists to provide exceptional service to customers across the construction sector. The business is known for investing heavily in its people and providing ongoing training, support, and long-term career development opportunities.

The Role

As a Technical Sales Advisor, your responsibilities will include:

• Processing customer orders accurately and efficiently
• Managing inbound customer enquiries
• Making outbound sales calls to existing, dormant and prospective customers
• Providing customers with delivery updates and order information
• Handling returns and escalating technical product queries where required
• Re-engaging lapsed customers and winning back lost business
• Account managing existing customers and identifying opportunities to increase revenue
• Building strong customer relationships and maximising customer spend
• Delivering exceptional customer service while supporting branch sales targets
• Supporting the wider branch and warehouse team during busy periods
• Working closely with technical specialists to provide product advice and solutions

About You

To be considered for this Technical Sales Advisor position, you must have:

• Previous experience working within the construction, building products or merchanting sectors
• Experience selling building products
• Experience in telephone-based sales, account management, internal sales, business development or customer service
• Experience of inbound and outbound calling
• A proven ability to build strong customer relationships
• Strong communication and commercial awareness
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems
• Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities
• A positive, can-do attitude
• The ability to work effectively as part of a tea
