Job Title: Technical Sales Consultant, Renewable Energy, Loughborough

Salary: £35,000 basic, uncapped commission, £50,000 to £80,000 OTE. Realistic OTE around £70,000.

Location: Loughborough, East Midlands. On site five days a week at first. Full time, permanent, free parking

You sell technical systems into people's homes, and you are good at it. Now you want a sector with more growth behind it, and a company that will teach you the product properly.

This is the first sales hire at a fast-growing renewable energy installer. No sales team yet, no ceiling on commission, and a real route to lead the team you help build.

Why this role

Every lead is organic. Homeowners have already contacted the business, and many book their own calls. There are no cold calls and no bought data. That means sales from day one.

The buyer will feel familiar: a homeowner weighing up a technical purchase who needs it explained simply.

New government-backed funding means customers no longer need an upfront payment. The business expects to be very busy over the next couple of years, and you would be in at the start of it.

What you'll do

You will speak to the customer, listen to what they want, book a virtual survey, then recommend the right mix of solar PV, air source heat pumps and battery storage. You prepare the proposal and take it all the way to order. Around one in two virtual surveys turns into a sale.

Every system is bespoke. The company designs, surveys and installs everything in house, using its own online design tools.

Training and growth

You do not need any solar or heat pump knowledge. You start on solar, and a strong in-house technical team teaches you the rest.

The head of sales is deeply technical and a natural teacher, and the project managers teach too. Once solar feels second nature, you move into heat pumps, a product with a big window of opportunity over the next few years.

You are the first sales hire, so as the team scales, the route to team lead or sales manager is real. Today the focus is domestic. Commercial work is next, then public sector, which means bigger deals and more to sell into.

About you

You are highly motivated and hungry to progress. You have sold something technical into the home and can explain it plainly.

Your background might be security, alarms, CCTV, fire protection, access control or smart home systems, or another kind of technical home improvement. HVAC, electrical and telecoms sales translate too. You have talked homeowners through a quote and closed the sale.

You do not need to be an engineer, designer or surveyor. What you do need is the technical understanding to pick things up quickly.

Where you'll work

You will be in the Loughborough office five days a week at first. This role is not remote.
