The Role of Technical Sales Engineer
As Technical Sales Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing and growing sales across the Munster region, working with refrigeration contractors, HVAC specialists, consultants, merchants and trade customers.
You'll provide technical expertise, product recommendations and commercial support, helping customers select the right refrigeration, air conditioning and chiller solutions for their projects.
This is a field-based position covering Munster, ideally based in Cork, with occasional visits to Kilkenny, Limerick and Dublin for meetings and customer engagement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing new business opportunities across the refrigeration and air conditioning sector
- Managing and growing existing customer relationships
- Providing technical advice on refrigeration, air conditioning and chiller equipment
- Supporting customers with system selection and energy-efficient solutions
- Preparing quotations, proposals and technical documentation
- Delivering product demonstrations and technical presentations
- Working closely with internal sales and logistics teams
- Monitoring market trends, competitor activity and new technologies
- Becoming a trusted advisor to customers across your territory
What We're Looking for in a Technical Sales Engineer
We're keen to speak with ambitious individuals who enjoy combining technical knowledge with customer interaction. You may already be working in technical sales, applications engineering, refrigeration engineering or HVAC project support.
Ideal backgrounds include:
- Refrigeration and air conditioning sales
- Chiller sales or applications engineering
- Refrigeration wholesale or distribution
- Technical account management
As Technical Sales Engineer you'll ideally have:
- Strong technical knowledge of refrigeration, air conditioning and chiller systems
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to business development
- The ability to work independently and manage your own territory
- Engineering qualification in HVAC, mechanical or electrical disciplines (desirable)
- Full clean driving licence
