Technical Sales Executive -Field Based

North West/North East

£50-£60k +Company Car

We are recruiting on behalf of an established engineering business looking for a Technical Sales Executive to drive new business and develop existing customer accounts across the North East & North West regions with travel to customer sites.

This is an opportunity for a commercially minded salesperson who understands technical solutions and enjoys building relationships, identifying opportunities and turning customer requirements into profitable sales.

The Role of The Technical Sales Executive -

You will take ownership of sales across your territory, with responsibility for winning new customers, growing existing accounts and identifying opportunities in new markets.

Working alongside technical and operational colleagues, you will identify customer needs, recommend suitable solutions and manage opportunities from initial contact through to negotiation and order.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Winning new business through proactive prospecting, networking and customer visits.
• Developing existing accounts and identifying opportunities to increase sales.
• Understanding customer challenges and presenting appropriate technical solutions.
• Preparing proposals, negotiating commercial terms and securing orders.
• Managing your sales pipeline, maintaining accurate CRM records and providing reliable forecasts.
• Working with internal teams to ensure proposed solutions are commercially viable and can be delivered effectively.
• Building long-term customer relationships to generate repeat business and sustainable growth.

Requirements of the successful Technical Sales Executive -

You will have a proven track record in technical sales, with the confidence to develop new business, manage customer accounts and take ownership of the sales process.

You will also have:

• Relevant sector experience is highly advantageous. We are particularly interested in candidates with technical sales experience in refrigeration, HVAC, industrial controls, gas detection, monitoring systems or technical services. 
• Strong business development, negotiation and closing skills.
• The ability to understand customer requirements and explain technical solutions clearly.
• Good commercial awareness, including pricing, gross margin and profitability.
• Experience managing a sales pipeline and working towards sales targets.
• The ability to build relationships with both technical and commercial decision makers.
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the North East & North West, including occasional overnight stays.
