An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Sales Manager to join a growing engineering manufacturer delivering specialist subsea and offshore solutions into some of the world's most demanding energy markets.
This is a key commercial and customer-facing role where you'll combine technical engineering knowledge with strong business development skills to identify new opportunities, develop strategic customer relationships and convert complex technical requirements into commercially successful solutions.
Working closely with engineering, manufacturing, project management, operations and sales teams, you'll play a central role in developing new business. You'll engage with operators, EPC contractors, OEMs, subsea contractors and supply chain partners, helping customers solve complex engineering challenges through technically robust and commercially competitive solutions.
The role will cover the full sales and business development process, from identifying opportunities and interpreting customer requirements through to preparing tenders, quotations and proposals and supporting negotiations through to order placement.
This position offers genuine career progression within a dynamic engineering business, with exposure to international customers, technically challenging projects and a broad range of subsea technologies and services.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Sales & Business Development
- Develop and maintain strong strategic relationships with operators, EPC contractors, OEMs, subsea contractors, supply chain partners and other key industry stakeholders.
- Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities across the offshore energy and subsea sectors.
- Promote a broad portfolio of subsea products, engineering capabilities, services, testing, refurbishment, maintenance and offshore support solutions.
- Act as a key technical interface between customers and internal engineering and commercial teams.
- Understand customer challenges and translate technical requirements into practical and commercially competitive solutions.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing customer accounts and develop new markets and regions.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging technologies to identify potential business opportunities.
Commercial Responsibilities
- Maintain a strong and well-qualified sales pipeline aligned with business growth objectives.
- Deliver against agreed sales revenue and order intake targets.
- Develop long-term strategic opportunity pipelines across existing and new customers.
- Support pricing, contract review and commercial negotiations.
- Maximise quotation and order conversion while maintaining appropriate commercial returns.
- Develop account plans for key customers and identify opportunities for growth.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts and opportunity reporting.
- Provide regular updates on sales activity, market intelligence and business development opportunities.
- Support the development of new customers, markets and international regions.
Customer & Industry Engagement
- Conduct regular customer visits, business development meetings and technical reviews.
- Deliver technical presentations to customers and industry stakeholders.
- Represent the business at conferences, exhibitions, trade shows, technical forums and networking events.
- Develop and maintain a strong network across the offshore energy, subsea, EPC, OEM and contractor community.
- Build trusted, long-term relationships with customers and industry partners.
Essential Skills & Experience
Engineering degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering or business-related discipline.
Full UK driving licence.
Experience in technical sales, business development, applications engineering, project engineering or a similar customer-facing engineering role.
Experience within the offshore energy, subsea, oil & gas or wider engineering sector.
Strong understanding of subsea production or controls systems and associated equipment.
Ability to interpret technical specifications, tender documentation and customer requirements.
Proven experience identifying, developing and securing new business opportunities.
Experience preparing technical and commercial proposals, quotations, tenders and bid submissions.
Strong commercial awareness, including pricing, contract review, negotiation and account management.
Excellent communication, presentation and customer-facing skills.
Strong relationship-building and networking abilities.
Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
Desirable Experience
Knowledge or experience in one or more of the following is required to be considered for this role :
- Subsea production systems and controls infrastructure
