An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Support Engineer to join a growing Aftermarket and Inside Sales team within a leading engineering and manufacturing business.
This is a customer-focused technical role where you'll combine your engineering knowledge with commercial awareness, supporting customers and distribution partners by providing technical advice, preparing quotations and identifying opportunities for aftermarket equipment, spare parts and service solutions.
Working closely with Engineering, Field Service, Sales and Operations teams, you'll play a key role in delivering an outstanding customer experience while helping to drive business growth.
The Role
As a Technical Support Engineer, you'll be the first point of contact for technical enquiries, supporting customers throughout the sales process and ensuring they receive accurate, timely solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing technical support to customers and channel partners
- Preparing detailed quotations and proposals for equipment, spare parts and service requirements
- Interpreting technical drawings, specifications and manuals to recommend suitable solutions
- Working closely with Engineering, Applications, Field Service and Sales teams to deliver customer requirements
- Identifying sales opportunities by analysing customer order history and trends
- Supporting key customer accounts with application-specific guidance
- Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and customer service
- Maintaining accurate customer and sales information using CRM and ERP systems
We're looking for someone with a strong technical background who enjoys working with customers and solving engineering problems.
You'll ideally have:
- A technical qualification (HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent experience) in an engineering discipline
- Previous experience within technical support, technical sales, applications engineering or inside sales
- Experience within a manufacturing, industrial or engineering environment
- The ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience using Microsoft Office and CRM systems
- ERP experience would be advantageous
- Salary up to £42,000 per annum
