Technical Services Manager – Flagship Central London Building

Salary: £80,000 + discretionary bonus

Nexus Careers is working with a leading global facilities management provider to recruit an experienced Technical Services Manager for a prestigious flagship building in Central London.

This is a high-profile leadership role with responsibility for the delivery of mechanical and electrical engineering services across a complex commercial property. The successful candidate must come from a strong technical M&E or building services background and be comfortable leading engineering teams, managing contractors and working closely with senior client stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day delivery of technical and engineering services.
  • Manage and develop the on-site engineering team.
  • Ensure all mechanical and electrical systems operate safely and reliably.
  • Oversee planned, reactive and statutory maintenance activities.
  • Manage specialist subcontractors and service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with permits, RAMS and safe systems of work.
  • Monitor engineering performance against KPIs and service levels.
  • Manage technical incidents, escalations and root-cause investigations.
  • Support lifecycle planning, asset replacement and improvement projects.
  • Maintain accurate compliance, maintenance and operational records.
  • Produce reports and present engineering updates to the client.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency and service delivery.
  • Manage engineering budgets, quotations and expenditure.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and senior stakeholders.

Candidate Requirements

  • Strong technical background within mechanical, electrical or building services engineering.
  • Previous experience in a Technical Services Manager, Engineering Manager or similar position.
  • Experience working within a prestigious commercial, corporate or critical environment.
  • Strong understanding of M&E infrastructure and statutory compliance.
  • Proven experience leading engineers and managing subcontractors.
  • Good commercial and financial awareness.
  • Strong client and stakeholder management skills.
  • Relevant technical or engineering qualifications.
  • Confident, professional and capable of operating within a flagship environment.
