Our client, ISS, is seeking a national, electrically biased Technical Services Manager to lead the delivery of Hard FM and Technical Services across the account.

Operating at approximately Operations Manager level, this role combines people management, technical leadership, compliance oversight and customer relationship management, while maintaining an active involvement in technical operations.

Job Description

Reporting to the Key Account Director and working closely with local operational teams, the Technical Services Manager will play a key role in ensuring technical services are delivered efficiently, safely and compliantly, in line with OneISS standards and client expectations.

This is a genuinely mobile national role, with travel requirements varying in line with operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of Hard FM and Technical Services across the national account.
  • Manage a team of approximately eight engineers, including four mobile and four static engineers.
  • Provide leadership and support to the Lead Engineer and wider engineering team.
  • Take ownership of electrical technical performance across the contract.
  • Ensure compliance standards, SLAs and KPIs are achieved and maintained.
  • Act as the technical escalation point for engineering issues and support planned shutdowns and infrastructure works.
  • Undertake and hold Authorised Person (AP) responsibilities, ensuring engineering activities are carried out safely and compliantly.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders while driving high standards of technical service delivery across the account.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

  • Suitably electrically qualified.
  • Technically competent in electrical building services.
  • Strong Hard FM and Technical Services experience.
  • Good understanding of electrical compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing engineering teams and service performance.
  • Strong knowledge of SLAs and KPIs.
  • Ability to develop, support and manage engineers effectively.
  • Experience of technical and infrastructure projects, including planned shutdowns.
  • Willingness to remain operationally involved rather than purely desk-based.
  • Strong customer and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Comfortable operating in a highly customer-facing environment.
  • Ambition and appetite for continued development.
  • Full UK driving licence required.

Travel

​This role requires national travel as and when required. Travel patterns will vary depending on operational needs. For example, some weeks may be largely home-based, while others could involve multiple days visiting sites across the UK. Candidates must be comfortable working within a genuinely mobile national role.
